Mission Statement

To present and emulate frontier life in the Kentucky territory during the years of the American Revolution in as authentic a manner as possible. To encourage and facilitate research, preservation and authentic presentation of lifestyles, skills, traditions, and events experienced by the men and women of the Kentucky frontier in the later 18th Century.  

To educate ourselves and others by utilizing a combination of lifestyle interpretations and "first person" impressions of civilian, militia, and American Indian personas, types of dress, food ways, arts, crafts, trades, frontier and domestic skills and re-enactments of specific events, and then sharing our knowledge and resources through demonstrations, participation in community events, presentations to schools, churches, civic groups, etc.

To establish, maintain, promote and support public interest in local history.  

 Membership Requirements

 Be at least 18 years of age for full membership. 

Have shown an interest in study of the lives and methods of the eastern pioneers during the years of the American Revolution. Show the willingness to take an active part in the activities of this association.

About the Painted Stone Settlers

 Painted Stone Settlers, Inc. was formed in 1999 and incorporated as a 501(c)3 Non Profit Corporation. 

Meetings are held the first Thursday of the month at various location in Shelbyville, KY. Meetings are held more frequently just prior to the Long Run Massacre re-enactment.

Annual dues are $25/family and $15/individual.

Active members: Members that live in the area, attend monthly meetings and have a vote on issues.

Patron members: May not be able to participate in an active way but support the group with their dues and interest.
